In this session, participants will learn how to access Carolina Biological Science Online through the launchpad. From there, participants will learn tips and tricks on how to navigate this site to prepare for their weekly hands-on lessons based on their science pacing guide.
In this session, participants will get a brief overview of the science landing page. From there, participants will look more closely at the optional pacing guide and how to best plan weekly lessons using the pacing guide.
Middle school teachers will be provided an informational session on learning how to navigate the South Carolina Science State Standards, and how to use in lesson planning. Recommended for New Middle School Teachers or Staff who are not familiar with SC Science Standards.
Borrowed from the business world, hexagonal thinking allows students to "the big picture" connections on whatever subject you are teaching while also giving you a zoomed in view of the "small picture" connections as well! That are dozens of ways to do this, so come learn the SIX BEST! Come see the data from my own students, practice with your own lessons, and use all six sides of your brain!
We will refine our understanding of the differences between growth and fixed mindsets. We will develop strategies to promote growth mindset for our students, and we will incorporate these strategies into our practices and lesson plans for the coming year.
Co-teaching is a collaborative approach to instruction in which two teachers, typically a general education teacher and a MLP or SPED teacher, work together to plan and then implement instruction for a class. This PD session will focus on effective collaborative teaching practices in a US History classroom for multi-language learners as well as students with disabilities. While the focus is US History content, the application can be applied to different content courses.
In this session, the participants quickly unpack the standards for unit 2 and then unit plan for grade 4 unit 2. This will include looking at the weekly lessons and unit test.
Explore various strategies to engage students in academic discourse and deepen their understanding of course content. We will define academic discourse, identify its characteristics, and experience engaging strategies that foster purposeful talk. Leave with confidence and ideas to use immediately!
Join us for a one-hour session giving an overview of the GCS Power Standards. We will share support documents and give time for collaborative discussion regarding implementation within your Collaborative Teams.
Are you overwhelmed, tired, and looking for ways to maximize your time? If so, join us for an interactive workshop where we will explore a set of easy to use, AI-powered tools built to lighten educators' load, so educators can save their energy for where they shine best - in the classroom, in front of students. Don't miss this opportunity to shape the future of education with MagicSchool.ai!
We will explore research based effective use of teacher feedback and plan ways to incorporate effective feedback into our practice and lesson plans to improve student achievement.
