Graphic novels are more than comic books! They can be an engaging way to bridge gaps in vocabulary, context, and content. While students enjoy reading them for their cartoon illustrations and readability, they can also be used to supplement instruction. Come learn how to use these resources from your library to create an engaging format to present everything from classic literature to text features to primary sources.

Participants will learn how to create IEPs, enter progress monitoring data, complete appropriate transfer paperwork, and document reevaluation/eligibility determinations in EDPlan SC, the new SC state IEP software system. Participants will engage in hands-on practice in the new system, and will walk-through creating and finalizing an IEP, Transfer Statement of Comparable Services, and a reevaluation eligibility. Participants will learn to use this technology tool to document differentiated instruction for students with special needs, through the development of IEP goals and classroom instructional goals for individual students that will align with lesson planning and specialized instructional strategies.
