Participants will learn alternatives to suspension and re-entry tools for students exhibiting difficult behaviors and repeat offenses in the school setting.
Co-teaching is a collaborative approach to instruction in which two teachers, typically a general education teacher and a MLP or SPED teacher, work together to plan and then implement instruction for a class. This PD session will focus on effective collaborative teaching practices in a US History classroom for multi-language learners as well as students with disabilities. While the focus is US History content, the application can be applied to different content courses.

Secondary Special education teachers using the Brigance will learn how to utilize this assessment tool in assisting students for a successful transition into adult life, assessing student’s mastery of skills within the key skill areas identified by the IDEA guidelines for Indicator 13.
Participants will be provided with an overview on the use of task boxes in ID Moderate specialized classrooms. They will have time to ask questions and get feedback on the tasks analysis sheets for each task box.

Preschool and elementary special education teachers of students with intellectual disabilities will learn how to utilize this assessment to develop present levels and goals and monitor progress.
Participants will learn how to gather and utilize data to properly montior student progress on IEP goals. They will be provided an overview of how Goalbook can be utilized to help with progress monitoring.
**This session is for Special Education self-contained classroom teachers.** Participants will learn how to establish clear and consistent communication and ensure paraprofessionals are an integral member of the instructional team with the goal of increasing student learning.
