Participants will learn how to create IEPs, enter progress monitoring data, complete appropriate transfer paperwork, and document reevaluation/eligibility determinations in EDPlan SC, the new SC state IEP software system. Participants will engage in hands-on practice in the new system, and will walk-through creating and finalizing an IEP, Transfer Statement of Comparable Services, and a reevaluation eligibility. Participants will learn to use this technology tool to document differentiated instruction for students with special needs, through the development of IEP goals and classroom instructional goals for individual students that will align with lesson planning and specialized instructional strategies.

We will discuss adaptations, modifications, assistive technology and creating a joyful experience in the art room, gym and beyond.
After teaching a Newcomer class in 2023-2024, I have developed skills and methods to teaching ELA skills to Newcomer students. When taking ACCESS test, all of my newcomers scored above a Pre-A score on their reading and listening domain.
